Museums and the Arts

Vermont’s mountains and valleys have long been a source of solitude and inspiration for generations of artists. Wander the Green Mountains at your leisure and discover a varied universe of art galleries, art centers and artist studios. There are also historic museums and galleries including the Arlington Gallery where Norman Rockwell had a studio for almost a decade as well as a museum dedicated to his works in nearby Rutland. Individual artists’ studios and galleries cover the Green Mountains like the colors in October. Every where you travel you will find another potter, painter or sculptor eager to show you their works and how its done.

Vermont’s art centers are a great way to experience many artists and styles all in one place. The Peel Gallery of Fine Art, the Southern Vermont Art Center, the Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Center, the Vermont Folk-Life Center, the Gallery On The Green and the Vermont Center for Photography are only a few that await your visit. Each one unique – each one a Vermont treasure.
